Hey, I'm Mj. I came to design through cooking — years in professional kitchens, including Michelin-starred restaurants, where I learned to move fast, make real decisions under pressure, and care deeply about the person on the other side.

Now I design products. I'm completing an MFA in Interaction Design at California College of the Arts, but most of what I know came from making things — apps, physical objects, systems that live in the real world with real constraints.

I work across the full stack of design: research, interaction, UI, and whatever else needs doing. I'm comfortable being the only designer in the room. In the kitchen, there's no hand-off — you own it from first cut to final plate. I bring that same instinct to product work.

Ever since I was little, I’ve had this insatiable curiosity about, well, everything. Learning something new has always given me a buzz. As a kid, I’d spend hours crafting things to give to people – it was my way of connecting and sharing a bit of joy.
